into the #euscherteam

Because we have our future in our hands.

For many years, Euscher GmbH & Co. KG has been committed to promoting young talent and supports regional educational institutions and career guidance campaigns.

True to Henry Ford’s quote, “The competitiveness of a country does not begin on the factory floor or in the research laboratory. It begins in the classroom.” Together with schools, the city of Bielefeld and associations, we ensure that pupils and young adults can get a realistic picture of the world of work – especially at Euscher, of course – before they enter the world of work. It is also particularly important to us to break with typical clichés and show that girls can also hold their own in an industrial company at any time and are just as well suited to a career as a tool mechanic, for example, as their male classmates.

We are firmly convinced that the promotion of young technical talent is crucial for the future viability of our company and the entire region. Through targeted measures and collaborations, we want to play our part in discovering, promoting and supporting young talent – because technology needs creative minds and innovative ideas.

Shape your future.
In Bielefeld.

Our involvement in the promotion of young talent

Below you will find an overview of the events and campaigns in which we participate as part of our support for young talent. And who knows, maybe we’ll get to know you soon and you can find out whether a career with us is the right step on your career path!

experiMINT

The experiMINT association is committed to enabling experimentation in the STEM professions (mathematics, IT, natural sciences, technology). The focus is on practical experience and fun when companies, universities, schools and young people from the network come together. The aim is to explore future prospects together, discover the professions and study subjects of tomorrow, counteract the shortage of skilled workers and increase enthusiasm for STEM subjects in the long term.

The vision of the experiMINT association is to enable all girls and boys in the city of Bielefeld and the district of Herford to gain in-depth experience in STEM professions during their school careers.

In October 2009, the experiMINT association was founded by Imke Rademacher, then Deputy Managing Director of OWL Maschinenbau e.V., together with entrepreneurs from the network in order to realize this vision. Today – together with us – over 80 companies, institutions, universities and schools are involved in the association to promote career and study orientation in the region.

Bielefeld Night of Careers

During the “Bielefeld Night of Careers”, we open our doors to interested school pupils or other young people up to the age of 27 who would like to find out more about various professions. In a relaxed atmosphere and with cool activities, we at Euscher like to take the opportunity to talk to potential young professionals.

We offer real insights into our production on site, hands-on activities and, of course, the opportunity to talk spontaneously and informally with our training managers and trainees about individual job prospects and training opportunities. The special thing about this is that you don’t need an appointment and can simply drop by. You can use the buses and trains of the city of Bielefeld free of charge for the whole evening. Our tip: Get the corresponding pocket guide to plan your route. You can get it directly from us or download it here.

Girls´ Day

On Girls’Day – also known as “Girls‘ Future Day” – girls between the ages of 11 and 18 get a taste of professions that are traditionally seen as classic “boys’ jobs” and thus free themselves from gender-specific clichés. Girls’ Day is a Germany-wide day for career and study orientation and is supported by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

On this day, interested girls have the opportunity to get to know professions or fields of study in which the proportion of women is below 40 percent. These include areas such as IT, trades, natural sciences and technology. They also have the opportunity to meet female role models in leading positions in business and politics.

Luisenschool

We have a long history with the Luisenschool in Bielefeld. This began on April 14, 2005 through the mediation of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce – officially with the aim of dovetailing theory and practice in career choice preparation and with commercial enterprises in the classroom. Since then, a fixed working group consisting of representatives of the school and our training managers has met at regular intervals.

For example, we traditionally carry out job application training with the 9th grade. The students have to face professional job application situations. Some interviews are then recorded on video so that facial expressions and body language during the application training can be analyzed afterwards. This coaching has become an integral part of career choice preparation at the Luisenschule.

We also support the Luisenschule with sponsorships and finance, for example, the reading campaign and the MEGAfoN® initiative, which helps young people to distinguish real news from dubious “fake news”.

Internship

In the 9th or 10th grade, it is often standard for students to complete a three-week work placement to gain an insight into the world of work. With us, you have the opportunity to complete your internship either in administration or in our plant.

In administration, you can learn a lot about commercial processes such as accounting, controlling, human resources, general office tasks and marketing. At the plant, you will have the chance to get to know real production processes. Here, for example, you will find out what activities a tool mechanic, a cutting machine operator or a warehouse specialist performs.

If you are interested, please get in touch with us to clarify your questions and specify the desired period. If both sides feel comfortable, we will arrange a personal appointment at our company to discuss the details of your internship or thesis. Then we can get started! We look forward to getting to know you!
